Matthew has traveled worldwide, studying the work and writings of the great architects and the preceding history of architecture, in search of the wisdom and discoveries of truly great designers that characterize the human desire to elegantly construct meaningful architectural expressions for society and its individuals.
Some of those notable architects would include Lina Bo Bardi, Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies Van Der Rohe, Louis Kahn, Le Corbusier, Carlo Scarpa, Peter Zumthor, Rem Koolhaas, Ricardo Legorretta, Zaha Hadid, and Alvaro Siza.

Our design partnership has emerged as a result of a search for meaning in architecture, and a vision for vibrant, curated interiors. I previously founded Frontier Architects, an architecture practice based in Austin as a progenitor of our current work focused on sustainable homes and custom interiors. I also co-founded Fare Made with three designers in Toronto, a digital fabrication and design studio dedicated to assisting artists in expressing their vision, custom signage, and well-crafted retail environments.
Firm Philosophy
Architecture, more than simply the practice of applying and selecting effective regional building methods, is an evolutionary discourse of construction, and a tool used to engage people. Before specializing in residential architecture, our partnership has designed retail, restaurant, hospitality and exhibits, to highlight the new technological possibilities and skills of fabricators, and to work with specialists to meet every standard of quality. The transformative power of disciplined design is relevant not only to private residential but also to our commercial clients. We have worked on projects for museums, start-ups, collectives, retailers, municipalities, urban spaces, performing arts venues, hotels, libraries, public artists, private interests and educational institutions.
Architectural design should realize important, inspiring and enlightening experiences, by engaging the fields of arts, media, construction and technology. The fascination in our work is to realize such experiences through collaborative design, social organization, innovative concepts, principled design envisioning, and technical engineering.
